Icelandic horse gelding - It is with a heavy heart that I am looking for a loving new home for my 4.5-year-old Icelandic gelding, named Semi. He is currently in Germany, and you are welcome to meet him in person here by appointment.
Semi stands about 1.35 m tall, is strongly built, and has a unique coat color. He is a very sweet, calm, and respectful gelding who is absolutely pleasant and easygoing in daily interactions. He learns incredibly quickly and always approaches new tasks with great composure and keen interest. Everything he can do so far, he has either offered on his own or learned with ease.
Before the actual breaking-in process began, Semi was first worked from the ground. This included lunging, pole work, and plenty of free work in the round pen. At age four, breaking him in began without pressure and entirely at his own pace. He really enjoys his work and can usually master many things after just one try. By now, he’s accustomed to the saddle, bridle, and a rider’s weight. He can be ridden without any trouble in the basic gaits: walk, trot, and canter. He can perform the tölt, but due to his young age and current level of training, this needs to be further developed and consolidated.
Trail rides are also no problem for Semi. He goes out into the countryside without any issues, both alone and in a group, and always remains well-behaved and calm.
Semi is easy to load; he’s used to dogs and children and is comfortable being led as a hand-led horse.
He is healthy and currently shows no signs of summer eczema. His hooves have been regularly trimmed by a farrier, who reports that he has strong, healthy hooves and good balance.
Semi comes with suitable equipment, including a Massimo Tölt saddle that was recently adjusted by the saddler and can be included with the purchase.
