Chestnut Thoroughbred Gelding - Our beloved Reado, an 11-year-old chestnut Thoroughbred gelding standing 1.70m at the withers, is looking for a loving new home.
Unfortunately, it is with a heavy heart that we must give him up, as family circumstances have changed and we no longer have the time to give him the care he deserves.
He is a kind-hearted horse who will do anything with you once he trusts you. Reado comes from the racetrack, but didn’t race there for very long. He has only basic dressage training. Otherwise: - absolutely well-behaved and always reliable - enjoys working, is attentive, and wants to please (eager to learn) - Loves children & is safe on trails (both alone and in a group) - Suitable for both beginners and experienced riders (ideally a mix of both) - Gets along well with all other horses (low in the pecking order) - Easily loaded - No issues with the farrier, vet, or physical therapist - Shoed on the front (unfortunately, this is necessary) - Great at standing by your side, can also stand on his own
He’s just a buddy-type horse you can’t help but love.
However, there’s something to note about his current condition: Earlier this year, he unfortunately suffered shoulder paralysis after slipping on ice. As a result, he wasn’t rideable until recently. Thanks to the help and collaboration of the veterinarian, physical therapist, and riding instructor—along with a lot of patience and love—he’s now back on the mend and rideable again. We’d be willing to rehome him as rideable, but with caution, since he’s still building up his muscle mass. It will still take some time, patience, and love before he is fully back in action. Otherwise, he has had a few minor issues here and there, but they do not affect him further.
He’s currently in the 31... ZIP code area, in his stall at night and out in the pasture during the day. In winter, he spends half the day in the paddock and half the day in his stall.
We’re looking for a loving home for him, preferably one with children. Someone who’d enjoy doing everything with him—from groundwork and trail riding to cuddling, and maybe even tackling small obstacles again later on, or simply galloping with him across a stubble field (please be a confident rider). But without any competitive ambitions, without pressure in his life.
Definitely the right home and person come before price. It’s not about who can give me more or less.
His equipment is welcome to be included in the adoption.
Please contact us only if you’re genuinely and seriously interested.
