BEHAVIORAL THERAPY & TRAUMA WORK FOR HORSES - Trauma is a (psychological) injury that is accompanied by a strong psychological shock and can be caused by very different experiences Source: Wikipedia
Even though horses are different from humans, our nervous systems function very similarly.
Life does not leave us all untouched.
Injuries, accidents and scars also leave traumas in the body. Horses show behavioral abnormalities that are triggered by traumatic experiences. These include, for example, sensitivity to touch, aggression, chronic stress, disturbances in social relationships with other horses or people, but also inexplicable recurring health problems and generally poor body awareness.
Many horses have traumatic experiences, e.g. when weaning, breaking in, changing stables or owners, loss/death of friends in the herd, accidents, trailer rides, but also operations (including castrations), which can remain in the body and cause tension and (chronic) pain.
I will help you on your way out of the trauma and towards positive body awareness and healthy, trusting relationships
