Young gelding for the ambitious leisure rider - We are looking for a new home for our Tinker-Pinto mix gelding in his prime (7 years old). Lancelot has lived with us since he was 10 months old and has had the good fortune to grow up well cared for and with good experiences. This is reflected in his character. He is a very social horse, rather low in rank and therefore combines very well with other horses. Over the years, he has been kept both in an open stable and in a box, knows both and gets on well with both. Lancelot was broken in and trained by a top trainer for young horses and show jumpers. He has been in intensive training for years, which means that, contrary to his pedigree, he is extremely capable and even gives experienced trainers (who initially only had a smile) an "aha experience". Lancelot has successfully taken his riders through tests, badges such as riding pins and competitions up to and including 90 cm. In training, he has also mastered courses up to 105 cm and individual jumps up to 110 cm. Lancelot is, of course, easy to load and farriery is not an issue at all (he goes barehoof, by the way). He can of course be groomed, saddled and ridden or fetched from the paddock without any naughtiness. He has recently been ridden regularly by children (aged between 8 and 15). (and by the trainer/instructor). But even inexperienced "non-riders" have gone on 3-hour rides with him or had the odd riding lesson. None of this is an issue for Lancelot. He is a reliable horse that is also easy to ride when there have been longer breaks in between and he has not been ridden several times a week. Lancelot's health is very robust. He has never had colic or problems with his hooves. He also has no allergies, intolerances or excema. Apart from scrapes, abrasions (from grazing) or a cold (wrong blanket at night), Lancelot has never incurred any veterinary costs.
Unfortunately, we have now reached a point where we need to switch to more advanced sport. We would like to find a place for Lancelot where he is appreciated for who he is and what he can do. Ideally, he would be at the side of a young rider who would like to spend many happy years with him. Lancelot is a dream horse for leisure riders and ideal for show beginners.
